Dr. D. Y. Patil Law School was established in January 2017 by Dr. D. Y. Patil University and is situated on a sprawling 25-acre university campus. The Law School offers comprehensive undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in law with a strong focus on academic excellence, professional competence, and social responsibility.

The institution provides education in key areas such as Constitutional Law, Corporate and Commercial Law, Criminal Law, International Law, Business and Trade Law, and Intellectual Property Rights. The academic framework is designed to blend theoretical knowledge with practical learning through moot courts, internships, and research activities.
In 2017, the Law School moved into a newly constructed building inspired by the architecture of the Supreme Court of India. The building is spread across 20 acres within the university campus and reflects the dignity, discipline, and heritage of the legal profession.
